For a significant number of Michigan citizens (including people with disabilities) the absence of affordable, reliable, and accessible transportation is a major barrier.
Many transit-dependent individuals rely upon public transportation services; others depend on transportation programs that have been developed to meet more rural transportation needs. These services need to be safe, seamless, affordable and universally accessible for individuals to get to medical care, employment, shopping, voting, and participation in the life of their communities.
