Battling Barriers... Becoming Accessible

Disability Connection is offering to  consult (at a minimal cost) with businesses and organizations in the Muskegon area on how they can become more  accessible.  We have information on cost-effective solutions, tax incentives, and specific information on how the ADA could affect you and your business. Let us show you how, by working together, we can build a more accessible community.

Disability Connection/West Michiganhas built a team of staff and volunteers who are trained in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These individuals are able to go out into their communities to assess area hotels, churches, restaurants and other businesses for accessibility according to the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.

The Access Team works with businesses and consumers to help determine the course of action that is best for the business and the community as a whole. The team  takes each business’ resources and services into account.  Every business has responsibility under the ADA to make their business accessible to the public.  Business should also assess their space and make plans for the future accessibility of their business.  Inviting the Access Team to your business can be the first step.  The Team can review your entire facility or only the portion open to the public.
