Youth Programs
L.E.A.D.S. = Learning; Empowering; Advocating; Determined to Succeed. Funded through the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council, the projectL.E.A.D.S. is a joint partnership between Disability Connection/ West Michigan and The Arc Muskegon.

Nursing Facility TransitionThe goal of this program is to provide individuals, regardless of their disability, an opportunity to choose community-based living as a viable alternative to nursing home residency.

Veterans ProgramOur Veteran Services include not only general information and referral to VA Center services, but also direct services to veterans with service-connected disabilities.

Peer SupportDisability Connection/West Michigan offers a unique resource: people with disabilities who have successfully established independent lives. Peer mentors and peer support groups help people explore options, develop goals, and overcome barriers.

Disability Sensitivity TrainingBy understanding the facts and issues surrounding disabilities, individuals (and the community as a whole) can take the first steps toward breaking down the barriers between two very distinct cultures.
